Project Overview
The 40 MLD Tertiary Sewage Treatment Plant (TSTP) in Surat demonstrates Enviro’s pioneering role in municipal wastewater reuse. Delivered under an EPC + O&M contract for the Surat Municipal Corporation, the plant produces industrial-grade product water for the Pandesara Industrial Estate.
The facility treats 61 MLD of sewage from an upstream SBR plant. Disc filters reduce TSS to 5 mg/L, after which UF-RO membrane systems further polish the effluent to generate 40 MLD of high-quality recycled water suitable for industrial use.
This project combines operational excellence and advanced technology integration to ensure consistent water quality, sustainability, and revenue generation for the municipality.

Project Objectives
1.Generate guaranteed revenue for the municipality through sale of industrial-grade water.
2.Reduce environmental impact by promoting large-scale wastewater reuse.
3.Contribute to energy-efficient, decarbonised water treatment practices.
4.Support industrial growth in Pandesara while conserving freshwater for domestic use.
The Challenge
!Meeting industrial-grade water quality standards reliably from variable municipal sewage inflow.
!Ensuring stable 24×7 operation to supply water continuously to industrial consumers.
!Aligning advanced membrane systems with existing upstream treatment infrastructure.
The Solution
Enviro designed a tiered treatment process to ensure performance and quality:
✓Disc Filtration to polish secondary-treated sewage and reduce TSS.
✓Ultrafiltration (UF) + Reverse Osmosis (RO) to deliver industrial-grade product water.
✓Automation and O&M expertise ensuring consistent output under challenging feed conditions.
The Results
★40 MLD of reliable product water supplied daily to Pandesara industries.
★New municipal revenue stream from recycled wastewater.
★Reduced dependency on freshwater sources, conserving natural reserves.
★Proof of concept that reuse projects can deliver both sustainability and profitability.
Why It Matters
The Hebbal STP demonstrates how wastewater treatment can become a resource hub — producing clean water, renewable energy, and environmental benefits. As India’s first large-scale STP of its kind, it sets the stage for future-ready, self-sustaining urban utilities.
